About Ugly History

History isn’t always noble, heroic, or dignified.

Sometimes it’s bizarre. Sometimes it’s disastrous. And sometimes it’s so ridiculous that you wonder how it ever happened in the first place.

Ugly History explores the strange, dark, disastrous, and absurd true stories that often get skipped in history class — from catastrophic mistakes and bizarre medical history to terrible decisions, strange deaths, infamous last words, and moments when history simply went completely off the rails.

The goal isn’t just to tell you what happened, but to tell the story behind it: the people, the decisions, the circumstances, and the chain of events that turned an ordinary moment into an unforgettable piece of history.

Every story is based on real historical events and presented with a mix of research, storytelling, humor, and just enough sarcasm to acknowledge when the past deserves it.

Because history doesn’t have to be boring.

History can be ugly. But this? This was ridiculous.
